Hello Goshen Leaders!
It’s time for another leader update! Please review the important information below regarding your upcoming summer adventure at the Goshen Scout Reservation.
Registration Update – Parent Portal
Good news! Goshen Scout Reservation has created a “Parent Portal Option” to pay for scouts once added to a Unit’s Camp Registration.
The Parent Portal feature will be activated both for class sign ups and payment. This is mainly for larger units, but other units may use the feature as well. It is recommended for units new to the registration system to have one person manage the registration for the first year before branching out into the Parent Portal for future summers.
For video tutorials on how to use Parent Portal, please view the registration system’s How To Videos.

We’ve had nothing. (Yes, typewriters are cool. We get it.) Select camps will be part of the Phase One rollout with plans, with the rest fitting into the future Phase Two.

You heard that right! The Goshen Scout Reservation will begin updating its Internet Services in Spring 2024. Internet updates will be taking place over two phases:
This spring, fiberoptic internet will be installed at Camp Ross, Camp Baird, and Camp Marriott in collaboration with BARC Connections. Wi-Fi will be available at the Admin Building, Leader Lounge, and Dining Hall (Ross only) for participant use.
National Capital Area Council and Goshen Scout Reservation are exploring several options to expand internet services to Camp Olmsted, Camp Bowman, and Camp Post for the near future. Verizon Wi-Fi Hotspots will still be available at the Admin Buildings and Leader Lounges for Summer 2024.
Why are we installing fiberoptic? Not only will fiberoptic improve internet services for Camp Staff and Administration, it will also allow for many adult leaders who need to stay in contact with their workplace to do so while they’re at camp. Although we will still encourage summer camp being an “unplugged” experience, we’re looking forward to continuing to improve Goshen operations, facilities, and program offerings.
Goshen Scout Reservation, a fully accredited camp, is the home of three resident Scout camps, one resident Webelos camp, and the Lenhok’sin High Adventure Base, all centrally located around beautiful, 450 acre, Lake Merriweather.
